In accordance with the State of Maryland's contract with IWIF for workers compensation coverage and UMB policy, all injuries and exposures must be reported to Risk Management on the UMB form titled "Employee's First Report of Injury" within three (3) days from the date of the incident. This policy applies to all injuries / exposures regardless of whether medical treatment was initially sought. Compliance with this policy ensures that the injured employee receives the immediate medical care necessary as well as other benefits to which they may be entitled, i.e. payment of medical bills and lost worked days (Accident Leave).
