3-30-00  11:03  Manual Pull Station First Floor Loading Dock  pulled by unknown person or persons.  Evacuees did not move away from building and the entrance was blocked.

5-4-00  09:08  Smoke detector basement mechanical room caused by contractor preparing to solder pipes.

5-16-00  11:06  Smoke detector North building elevator machine room.  Small electrical fire.

6-1-00   15:45  Manual pull station West building clinic child pulled station.

6-6-00  17:30  Manual pull station West building clinic child pulled station.  Guard has been placed over pull station and chairs have been moved from under the pull station.

6-16-00  13:57  Manual pull station 5th Floor East building.   Communications personnel activated pull station while climbing down ladder.

6-22-00  14:16  Manual pull station 1st Floor East building main entrance.  Child of employee running through lobby with hand on wall activated pull station.

9-13-00  09:44  Smoke Detector elevator pit freight elevator.  Ottis employee placed dusty rag over smoke detector which set off alarm.   They had not notified the elevator shop they were on campus.

2001

 5-1-01  13:35  Smoke Detector elevator pit Elevators 1 & 2.  Dust in pit activated the smoke detector.

7-5-01  15:05  Manual Pull Station 6th floor West Stairwell.  Faculty member smelled something burning in kitchenette and pulled pull station.  Burned materials were found in sink and microwave was open.  Unknown person had been cooking in the microwave and burned something causing the smell.

9-6-01  11:44  Manual Pull Station Clinic 1st floor, 3 year old child lifted cover on pull station and pulled the alarm.  Cover with audible local alarm has now been installed to discourage children and alert adults.

2002

1-2-02  16:08  Manual Pull Station Lobby 1st Floor Main Entrance, child of student pulled pull station setting off alarm.  Cover will be placed over pull station.  Fire Department Responded.

7-27-02  03:48  Smoke detector basement mechanical room caused by steam released into drain.  Fire Department Responded.

11-29-02  22:10  Smoke detector basement mechanical room.  Pressure relief valve activated in steam system setting off detector.  Fire Department Responded.

2003

 2-14-03  11:42  Manual pull station activated at Clinic entrance.  Burning smell and light smoke in elevator lobby of North building.  Fire Department Responded, took 14 minutes to arrive.  Cause was burning mulch in courtyard between the West and North buildings.  Smoke from the fire got into the wall of the entryway, traveled to the area above the ceiling, and was transmitted into the elevator lobby.  Smoke detectors did not activate.

2004

2005

1-15-05  23:00  Electronic board shorted out due to water entering elevator shaft.  Fire Department Responded.

5-12-05  11:04  Manual Pull Station pulled by catering contractor to exit the building.  Act caught on security camera.  Fire Department Responded.

10-27-05  12:48  Manual Pull Station pulled by students child on 4th floor hallway near Rm. 434.  Fire Department Responded.

2006

6-19-06  18:00  Manual Pull Station pulled due to electrical fire in HVAC Control Box on 2nd floor.  Fire Department Responded.

2007

7-18-07  12:10  Manual pull station activated by conference staff stacking bags up against and blocking pull station.  Exit corridor blocked as well.  Fire Department Responded.

12-6-07  11:37  Manual pull station.  A large hot water pipe that supplies the building burst causing steam to fill the mechanical room. A supervisory smoke detector activated. Tom Fahey building manager went to the room and saw what he thought was steam or smoke, he stated he smelled something burning. He pulled the manual fire alarm on the loading dock and activated the building fire alarm. The water line supplies hot water to the entire building and will likely be out of service at least the rest of today.  Engines 23, 2 and Truck 2 responded from the fire department.
