Bloodborne Pathogens

This program affects employees working with, or who have potential exposure to, human blood, body fluids, unfixed human tissues, or animal tissues infected with bloodborne pathogens. These employees are required to attend Bloodborne Pathogen training at the time of initial assignment to tasks where occupational exposure may occur. An exposure control plan, annual training, and acceptance or declination of hepatitis B vaccination is required. The use of material of human origin must be registered with the Institutional Biosafety Committee.
