Biological Waste Containers

not labeled bio trashAudit finding:  Biohazard waste containers are unlabeled

Adverse consequence(s): The improper handling of biological waste can result in injuries to employees, damage to the environment, and fines from regulatory agencies

Corrective action:  All biomedical waste containers must be labeled with the universal biohazard symbol.  For more information regarding  management of infectious materials, consult the Bloodborne Pathogen Control Plan.
