Each PI should download a list of the Chemicals of Interest
Compare the list of COIs against the inventory of chemicals you currently possess or plan to possess in your laboratory. When compiling your inventory, consider any chemicals that exceed the minimum concentration listed for that COI.
Do not report any COIs contained in an article defined as a manufactured item formed to a specific shape or design that has end use functions dependent on the shape or design and that does no release or result in exposure to a regulated substance under normal use.
The database is set up for each PI to report by laboratory the COIs that are present in the laboratory. After entering your demographic information, the database will ask you to enter a building and room number of one of your laboratories. From there, you will be able to list the COIs that you possess in that laboratory. If you do not possess any of the COIs, there is an option at the top of the page to indicate. Upon entering that you possess none of the COIs or your inventory of the COIs, you will be given an option to enter the inventory for another laboratory or exit the on-line database. Continue until you have entered all of your laboratories. Once you exit the on-line database, you will then be given a screen to view what you submitted. Print out this screen and hold onto it for your records.
A representative from EHS will contact you if any additional information is needed.
